Microsoft has announced Windows 365, a service that brings the operating system to the Microsoft cloud to provide the full Windows experience to personal or corporate devices in a hybrid work environment.
Windows 365 has been created under the principles of ‘zero trust’ and is secure by design, as the technology company reports. Protect and store information in the cloud, not on the device. It also creates a new category of hybrid personal computing called ‘Cloud PC’, which uses both the cloud and the capabilities of the device.
Microsoft 365 Corporate Vice President Jared Spataro stressed that “the cloud PC is a promising new category of hybrid personal computing, turning any device into a personalized, productive and secure digital workspace.”
The company has highlighted the instant boot of the personal PC in the cloud, where users can access all their applications, tools, data and settings through any device, as well as log in and continue where they left off.
Windows 365 will be generally available to businesses of all sizes starting August 2.
