Media around the world reported today (Thursday) an extensive network malfunction in which dozens to hundreds of leading sites crashed, including sites of major airlines and credit such as Amazon, UPS, Delta Airlines and American Express and even the official site of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Check Point explained that “this is not a cyber attack but a failure in which the server system that holds website information fails to communicate with the sites and in practice the information does not pass and the site looks ‘down’. “One failure – the whole node that connects the information to the sites ‘gets stuck’ and the sites do not appear. This is the third time this has happened in the last two months, and usually within about half an hour the sites return to themselves slowly through a gradual connection of the information to the sites.”
