NSO affair: The American newspaper “Washington Post” published tonight a list of reputable personalities, who were under espionage on behalf of the “Pegasus” company, to which the company sold the spyware. Among those on the list: ten prime ministers, three presidents of countries and King Mohammed V of Morocco. According to the publication, the number of devices monitored is 50,000.
Prominent names on the list include French President Emmanuel Macron, whose country has already announced that it has opened an investigation into the issue, Iraqi President Brahm Salah, South African President Cyril Rampusa, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madboli, and Moroccan Prime Minister Saad a- Din al-Ottoman and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri.
The Prime Minister of Burundi, the President of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, who are due to take office soon, are also on the list. Also former Mexican President Felipe Calderon and former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi fell victim to the Pegasus company spying.
In addition, the published list lists over 600 government officials from 34 different countries, including: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bhutan, China, Congo, Egypt, Hungary, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mali, Mexico, Nepal, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Togo, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.
