Astronaut Mark Wanda Haye became an American who spent a long time in space

The American astronaut, Mark Wanda Hay, entered the pages of history when he became the American who spent the longest continuous time in space – 355 days, thus breaking the record of the former astronaut Scott Kelly. Wanda Hay, launched into space on April 9, 2021, is scheduled to return to Earth aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft on March 30.

Today on the ISS, Mark Vande Hei (@Astro_Sabot) broke the record for longest single spaceflight by a U.S. astronaut – 340 days.
Earlier this year, @CBSNews spoke with Vande Hei about how he’s handling the long-duration mission (spoiler alert: he meditates in the Cupola). pic.twitter.com/k7OT8nrti4

“Our astronauts are outstanding researchers who help expand our knowledge of how humans can live and work in space for extended periods of time,” the NASA director said. Bill Nelson. “Mark’s record-breaking mission and his contributions to science pave the way for more people to fly into space for long missions as the agency pushes the boundaries of research toward the moon and Mars.”
