HP has collaborated with Mars Impressions family graphic arts company, to transform the pediatric oncology area of the Hospital 12 de octubre in Madrid into a more welcoming area, thus fulfilling the objective of the Candela Riera Association.
The non-profit Candela Riera Association was founded in honor of the girl who died at the age of 12 due to a rare tumor, specifically a multifocal metastatic Ewing’s sarcoma. Since then, he has been dedicated to promoting projects like this to help the little ones. And that’s where HP and Mars Impressions come in.
Both companies have converted the children’s oncology area of the Hospital 12 de octubre in Madrid into a more welcoming place for children. A task that has been accompanied by the designs of Javier Perez de Esbozo.
During the time that the project lasted, the 600 square meters of the room in which the small hospitalized patients play and the entire children’s radiology area were transformed, also counting on the support of the center’s health personnel.
The space has been decorated with cheerful designs and very bright colorsrecreating a center of superhero training so that the little ones can play and recover from their treatments.
From HP they have explained that when working in a hospital it is necessary that the printing materials used comply with specific health measures avoiding odors and the release of substances that may be toxic, and that its composition facilitates disinfection and daily intensive maintenance that requires a health center.
To perform this task, HP Latex large-format printing technology has been used, which allows print on all types of substrates, from vinyl and banners to textiles also offering great durability and resistance.
In the past, HP has collaborated on other projects to decorate hospitals such as the Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid, the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona and the Hospital de León.
“The purpose of our work is none other than to make people’s lives easier and more pleasant. These types of projects help us feel that we are building a better world in a perfect mix of smiles and technology”, declared the president of HP for southern Europe, Helena Herrero.
