How to recover deleted files on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac

Every computer or smartphone user has had the experience of accidentally deleting files and needing to recover them. From Android to iOS to Windows and Mac, there’s something for everyone. Here’s how to go about doing it.

If you need to recover a deleted file in Windows 10, Microsoft’s current most popular operating system, you can use the recovery tool called Windows File Recovery, which was released on the market by the firm itself.

It is free, and once started (or previously downloaded and installed, if it is not already installed as a base on the PC), the user must give commands to the tool using the following scheme: /mode /filters Winfr source drive drive target

This means you must first provide the drive on which the file or folder was deleted, then the destination drive to which you want to recover the file or folder, the method for doing so, and any other criteria.

There are two options in Windows File Recover: standard and intensive. The first is for restoring files that were deleted recently, while the second is for everything else. Type /regular or /extensive, depending on which you want to utilize.

The filters are used to specify the search by entering, for example, a specific name or a format, such as JPEG, followed by the name of the file (or the format) and whether it is included, preceded by the command /n and followed by the name of the file (or the format). of a file folder

For example, if you want to recover a photo of a dog that was accidentally erased on drive C: and saved on drive D:, type the following into the command prompt: C: D:/regular/n dogjpeg Winfr

There are two ways to delete files on a Mac: one is to empty the trash, and the other is to use the Time Machine application. In the first case, you simply click the icon in the application bar and locate the file you wish to recover by right-clicking or dragging it to its new location folder.

If the file in question isn’t already in the trash, the alternative option is to make backup copies with Time Machine, a Mac software.

To begin, click Select backup drive, and then select where you want these copies to be stored from now on. To do so, select Automatically back up to keep the function enabled.

The next time you need to recover a deleted file on your Mac, go to Time Machine and look for the file or folder you want to restore before clicking Restore.

There are two excellent techniques for Android users to retrieve a deleted file: with or without root. Rooting is the process of gaining control and privileges over a device so that you can change some of its built-in functions.

The quickest option is to use the DiskDigger software if you have root access. These rights are supplied after downloaded and installed, and the location to be searched is selected using the /data command.

After that, select the file types you want to search for and wait for the software to finish its work. After you’ve finished, the software allows you to save it to your device.

There’s also the potential that the user’s Android phone lacks root access or permissions. In that situation, using third-party software such as Recuva, which requires the use of a computer, is the most recommended option.

The mobile phone is connected to the PC through USB after this program has been loaded. Recuva now opens, and you may select the type of file you want to look for. After that, you click ‘At a certain point,’ and the Android device is picked.

Recuva lets you choose whether or not to use its deep scan mode. After that, wait for the search to complete, then select the file you want to recover and save it to your computer.

Finally, a user of the iOS operating system, which is found on iPhone and iPad, may wish to retrieve an accidently deleted file. If it was a photo, the Deleted tab in the Photos app provides an easy way to find it.

Images that have been deleted in the last 30 days are saved there before being destroyed completely. It would just be necessary to search for the photo in question within this tab and then click Recover to return them to their original folder.

The second wonderful option for recovering a file accidentally deleted in iOS, which works for all types of files (not just photos), is to use iCloud to create a backup copy on the device.

To make sure the option is turned on, go to Settings, select your username, then iCloud, and finally Backup in iCloud.

The user must go to if it has already been activated. After that, select Restore files and then the file you want to recover.
