MADRID, 11 Ago. – –

The messaging app Signal has updated its auto.disappearing chat message feature so that users can choose by default the time of permanence of the messages in all new conversations.

Signal already had chats that disappeared automatically, but until now this option had to be activated individually for each chat– Now, the new feature allows users to choose a default time for messages to be deleted in all their conversations.

The messaging platform has explained in a statement that the use of ephemeral messages by default allows users to use the function more easily and also benefits like saving space on your devices

Between the periods of time of permanence of messages that can be chosen are: four weeks, one week, one day, eight hours, one hour, five minutes, and 30 seconds– Custom intervals can also be chosen.

In addition, Signal continues to allow users to choose a different setting for each individual chat, regardless of what they choose by default.
