The legendary game Monkey Island is back, coming out this year

The Monkey Island adventure series, which follows the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, is one of the most praised games in history, and on Monday we received confirmation that a new game developed by original creator Ron Gilbert and David Grossman is coming this year.

According to the announcement, Monkey Island should be a direct sequel to the game Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge from 1991, which was the last game that Gilbert worked on directly. And in this game, Guybrush returns, who will be voiced again by Dominic Armato, and the announcement also shows the character of Murray’s talkative skull, which means that the creators did not write off all the titles that came out in three decades.

The new game will be created by Gilbert’s studio Terrible Toybos and released by Devolver and Lucasfilm Games.

There aren’t many details about the game itself, but the creators have set up a game page where we will definitely get more details about the story itself.
