WhatsApp adds a shortcut to create a group from a contact’s profile in the latest beta for Android

WhatsApp is implementing a new tool that is used to create a chat group with a specific contact directly from their own profile, as a shortcut, on Android devices.

As published by WABetaInfo, some beta testers already had the opportunity to access this shortcut in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.22.9.13. Now, this tool has been released to more users through the Google Play Beta Program in the updated version of this tool, 2.22.10.4, for Android.

The app has added a shortcut called ‘Create group’ in the section ‘Contact information’as shown in a screenshot shared by the aforementioned portal, an option that is only visible when the user already has a group in common with said contact.

Currently, the application offers different options from this section, either for block or report to these contacts. They can also be mute your notifications and customize them.

With this shortcut, once you tap on the shortcut, WhatsApp will automatically select the contact to add it to a new group, as this will not be created immediately. This happens because, by choosing the option, the application will offer the user the opportunity to add more participants to a group chat before creating it.

At the moment it is unknown when this shortcut will reach all users and if finally the iOS operating system will also have it, although WhatsApp plans more activations in the future.
