Stop for Android: Microsoft in China ordered its workers that everyone must use iPhone

Microsoft has ordered its employees in China to use only Apple’s iPhone for work starting in September, thus excluding Android devices from the workplace, Bloomberg reported.

In a security move, the US company will soon require Chinese employees to use only Apple devices to verify their identity when logging in to work computers or phones, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg.

The letter states that users using Android devices, including Chinese phones from Huawei and Xiaomi, will receive the iPhone 15. In addition to China, this security measure with devices will also affect Hong Kong, and one of the reasons is that the Google Play Store is not available in China, while it is in Hong Kong.

As the Apple Store is available everywhere, the goal is for all employees to be able to use the Microsoft Authenticator and Identity Pass applications for identity verification as normal.
