Microsoft has launched Security Experts, a tool that will help organizations protect themselves from cyber threats

Microsoft has announced the launch of Security Experts, a service aimed at businesses to assist them in strengthening their security systems and defending themselves against cyber threats.

Security Experts is a new service category that blends Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology with services handled by professional human teams to assist businesses improve their security while also increasing their efficiency and productivity.

According to the company’s statement, threats have expanded “at an alarming rate” over the last year, and cybercrime is expected to cost $10,500 million per year by 2025. This number is substantially larger than the losses of $3 billion in the previous decade or $6 billion in 2021.

Microsoft believes that as the number of attacks rises, so does the need for enterprises to strengthen their defenses. As a result, Microsoft Protection, another of its security services, has stopped more than 9.6 billion malware threats and 35.7 billion phishing and other malicious communications.

In the field of nation-state threats, data theft, and criminal activities, Microsoft Security is currently tracking over 35 families of ‘ransomware’ and 250 malicious actors.

Additionally, every second it is active, it stops 900 password theft attempts or brute force credentials. As a result, the corporation feels that technology alone is insufficient to properly defend businesses against cybercrime.

Microsoft’s goal with Security Experts is to provide a new category of services that allows businesses to secure themselves effectively using both technology and a skilled human workforce.

Organizations may now choose from a variety of solutions spanning Microsoft’s security, compliance, identity, management, and privacy product categories.

This solution focuses on Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting, Microsoft Defender Experts for XDR, and Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise, which are three new services maintained by the firm.

The first, Microsoft Defender Experts for Hunting, is a service for clients who have a well-equipped security operations center and are seeking to Microsoft for a way to proactively monitor threats across Microsoft Defender, Office 365, cloud apps, and identity data.

Customers will also receive specific recommendations from Microsoft to help them enhance their defenses. This option will be accessible starting this summer, however a ‘preview’ version is already available on demand.

Microsoft Defender Experts for XDR, on the other hand, is a solution for clients looking to enhance the capacity of their security operations center. It is a managed service that provides rapid detection and response (thus the name XDR), which has been enhanced and applied to Microsoft 365 Defender.

As a result, work with the IT team to examine warnings and respond to situations using automation and human skills. This option will take longer to arrive, as the business has stated, as it will be accessible in a ‘preview’ version at the end of 2022.

Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise, the most recent security solution, is already available. It’s a tool for large businesses looking for more complete managed services and frequent touch with Microsoft experts.

To safeguard cloud environments and platforms, this comprehensive, expert-led service combines threat hunting and managed XDR, leveraging accessible security information and event management (SIEM) and CDR management from Microsoft.

Microsoft security technicians handle integration, daily engagement, process modernization, and incident response with this solution.

Microsoft Security Services for Enterprise was formerly only available to enterprise clients, but it is now open to all customers.

Microsoft’s goal with the adoption of this solution catalog is to empower your clients by providing industry-relevant tools and ongoing customer care from Microsoft’s specialists.
