Hezbollah’s Christian allies have suffered heavy losses in the Lebanese elections

According to the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held in Lebanon on Sunday, the Christian allies of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah movement, which unites Shiite Muslims, have suffered a heavy defeat.

According to preliminary results, Lebanese President Michel Aoun’s Free Patriotic Movement party won only 16 seats in the 128-seat parliament, instead of the previous 18.

Another party uniting the Christian-Maronites, the Saudi-backed Lebanese Forces, won 20 seats in the elections, becoming the largest Christian force in the legislature.
