UN: More than 30 thousand refugees have moved from Lebanon to Syria

The representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, said at a briefing in Geneva that during the first week of the Israeli military operation “Arrows of the North”, more than 30 thousand people fled from Lebanon to Syria.

According to the UN, the refugees include both Lebanese and Syrians who previously fled to Lebanon from Syria, where the war continues. Most of them are women and children.

In particular, it is reported that many Lebanese Shiite families have temporarily moved to the city of Qusayr in the Syrian province of Homs, which is under the control of Hezbollah.
