Members of the Guinean armed forces who carried out the coup today captured President Alpha Conde, announced the dissolution of all institutions and imposed curfews throughout the country.

They also announced that the governors and chiefs of the region will be replaced by soldiers in those positions.

The soldiers invited all previous ministers and heads of state institutions to a meeting tomorrow at 11:00 local time in the capital Conakry.

Anyone’s non.appearance will be considered a rebellion against the new government, said a group of soldiers who carried out a coup earlier today.

“The curfew is in force throughout the country, from 8 pm tonight until the next announcement,” the army announced.
