At least ten people were killed in a fire at a covid center in Tetovo, Northern Macedonia Health Minister Venko Filipce announced–
“An accident took place in Tetovo, which took several human victims. So far, ten people have been confirmed in the fire, but that number may increase. This is a very sad day. I express my deepest condolences to the families,” Filipce wrote on Twitter.
The modular hospital of the city hospital in Tetovo burned down tonight in a fire that broke out around nine o’clock. The fire was extinguished by more than 30 firefighters with seven vehicles.
The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Health, Filipce, and several other members of the government immediately came to Tetovo, and Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the Albanian Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), whose headquarters are in Tetovo, also arrived on the scene.
The municipal crisis headquarters, chaired by Prime Minister Zaev, is currently in session. According to media information, there were more than 20 people in the kovid center.
