The Russian governor of Sevastopol called for declaring a federal emergency due to a fuel oil spill

The Russian governor of occupied Sevastopol appealed to the Russian authorities with a request to declare the city’s territory a federal emergency zone due to a fuel oil spill that had reached Sevastopol from a fuel spill in the Kerch Gulf.

The city already has a regional joint venture regime. “We may need additional funds for waste disposal – this is the most expensive of all areas. In order to offset these costs, we will need help from the federal budget,” the official said.

Let us remind you: on December 15, 2024, tankers with fuel oil “Volgoneft 212” and “Volgoneft 239” crashed in the Kerch Strait. Thousands of tons of fuel oil ended up in the sea, causing an environmental disaster.
