Former CEO of Rosvooruzhenie Alexei Ogarev found dead, RIA Novosti reports. Ogarev’s body was found in one of the buildings of the Balaton cottage settlement near Moscow.

According to law enforcement officers, we are not talking about an incident with criminal overtones, but the exact cause of death is still unknown.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation confirmed the discovery of the body of a 64-year-old man in a cottage village in the Odintsovo district, but did not specify his identity. The exact cause of death will be determined by the results of the examination.

The Rosvooruzhenie company, after merging with the FSUE Promeksport, was transformed into Rosoboronexport, now it is the only special exporter of weapons and military equipment in Russia.

Ogarev headed “Rosvooruzhenie” in 1999-2000, also worked as Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE, deputy head of the presidential administration and deputy secretary of the Security Council.
