Todoric announced: I am initiating proceedings abroad against the Borg Group and Russian banks

Former owner of Agrokor, Ivica Todorić, announced on Tuesday that he would soon initiate proceedings in America and Great Britain against members of the “Borg group”, their clients and Russian banks Sber and VTB, which are under international sanctions.

Todoric said that he was ready for the last step in the fight for the truth regarding the Agrokor affair, and that he was initiating proceedings in America and Great Britain, as he stated “in the light of complete control of the State Attorney’s Office by corrupt political levers in Croatia”.

He also announced that he would file claims in billions of kunas.

Todoric claims that it was enough to persecute his children and grandchildren that, as director of companies employing more than 60,000 people, he was unwilling to sign the destruction and illegal transfer of private property to criminal groups and Russian banks subject to international sanctions.

He called on the government to spread horrifying untruths in the public for years, and to politically force frivolous court proceedings based on malicious constructions.

He points out, however, that from 2017 to 2022, all court proceedings against his family, associates and friends were rejected by the courts, but that the same proceedings were reopened last week that had previously been rejected by the courts.

Todoric believes that in any state governed by the rule of law, court decisions would put an end to this issue and shift to those who did commit crimes, but this is not the case in Croatia, a country where he says few powerful people are fighting to stay in power. which protects them from criminal proceedings.

Last Thursday, the State Attorney’s Office re-filed an indictment in the Agrokor case against Ivica Todoric, his sons and associates for damages to the former concern of 1.2 billion kuna, an indictment that was withdrawn on November 16, 2021 to “better clarify matters”.
