PA, Hamas reject US investigation into death of Shireen Abu Akleh

The Office of the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, the ruling Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian public organizations sharply criticized the report of American experts, according to which it is impossible to unambiguously establish who is responsible for the death of journalist Shirin Abu Akla.

“The conclusions are unacceptable for us. We demand that the case be referred to the International Criminal Court. We have no doubt that Israel is responsible for the death of Abu Akla, which must be held accountable. We call on the United States to maintain its reputation and also lay responsibility on Israel,” he said. PA head spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina.

“The murder of the journalist was premeditated, and the Zionist occupiers are responsible for it. We demand an independent international investigation with the transfer of the case to the International Criminal Court,” the terrorist group Hamas said.

Supported the accusations against Israel and the radical left organization “B’Tselem”. Her statement argues that Israel continues to enjoy international immunity, and investigations are designed to cover up the truth, even when, as in this case, a US citizen is involved.

Shirin Abu Akla was killed on May 11 in Jenin during a battle between Palestinian militants and the IDF. Israel invited the Palestinian Authority to conduct a joint investigation, but the PA leadership refused, accusing the IDF of deliberately killing the famous journalist.
