Fire in plane: 300 people evacuated because of burning engine

Orlando (Florida) – Shock shortly before departure! Just a few minutes before an aircraft wanted to take off in the US holiday metropolis of Orlando, the engine suddenly was on fire.

Almost 300 passengers and 12 crew members could be brought to safety just in time. According to information from the American airline Delta Air Lines, there were no injuries.

The Airbus A330 was supposed to go to Atlanta in the state of Georgia late Monday morning from Orlando International Airport (USA) fly. The flight in 1213 was jam-packed: in Florida the popular “Spring-Break” holidays are coming to an end.

According to the Aviation Supervision FAA, the engine of the Aircraft Fire when it was pushed away from the gate on the ramp. The passengers had to leave the machine as quickly as possible.

“The crew followed the procedures for evacuation of the passenger cabin, as flames in the exhaust pipe one of the two engines of the aircraft were observed,” said the airline.

According to the airport, the fire brigade was able to quickly control the fire after the evacuation. Why that Feuer Breaked out, has so far been unclear and is now to be examined by maintenance mechanics.
