The traditional annual report of the NATO Secretary General, which summarizes the annual activities of the Alliance, including the context of cooperation with partner countries.

According to Ricard Yozgyak, the editor-in-chief of “Azatutyun” radio station, there are changes in the report on last year in particular in the formulations on Ukraine and Georgia.

The 2023 document emphasized that “the future of Ukraine is in NATO” and the support of the Alliance was celebrated on the way to Kiev’s membership. It was emphasized about Georgia, the allies continue to support the possibility of joining Tbilisi’s NATO.
In the new report, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was limited to supporting Ukraine and cooperation with Georgia, while there is no mention of the prospects of membership in those countries.

Russia has also made a possible expansion of NATO as a cause of military invasion of Ukraine. Kiev, however, continues to claim the need to join the Alliance.

Against the background of deteriorating relations with the West, it has practically stopped speaking publicly from the prospects of NATO membership.
