Thus, they have shown their willingness to “support peace conversations as soon as possible, discuss the technical application of Alto El Fuego and prepare for a total peace agreement.” “We are clear in which the bloodshed must end, in which Russia must stop its illegal invasion and in which Ukraine must be able to prosper as a safe and sovereign nation during the next generations, at its internationally recognized borders.”
“We will continue to increase our support to Ukraine. Until Russia accepts a durable fire, we will increase our pressure on the Russian war machine,” said the four leaders, in which his first joint trip to the European country is.
In this sense, Macron has published a statement in his account on the social network X after his arrival in kyiv in which he stressed that “his first thoughts are with the Ukrainian people, who has shown an admired courage” since the beginning of the war. “For his land, for his freedom, for Europe,” he said.
“The security of our continent is at stake here. Before Russian aggression, our response must be collective,” he explained, while insisted that “a fair and lasting peace begins with a high total and unconditional fire.”
“It is the proposal that we promote with the United States. Ukraine accepted it on March 11. Russia, however, the delay, sets previous conditions, plays over time and continues its invasion. If Russia continues to obstruct, we will increase together the pressure as Europeans, in close coordination with the United States,” he said.
Macron says everyone “wants peace”
Macron has applauded Trump’s decision to claim a high “unconditional” fire of 30 days. “Our unit is our strength. That is also the meaning of this visit. We all want peace,” he argued, before insisting and that “the peace agreement that is built must guarantee the security of Ukraine.”
“Ukraine is fighting for his people, but also for the European ideal in which we all believe. A free, strong, prosperous and European Ukraine is our goal. History is looking at us,” the French president has settled.
Within the framework of this visit, the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has made a visit with the four European leaders to “commemorate the warriors who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.”
“Gloria and eternal gratitude to the heroes who are no longer with us, but who will remain forever in our hearts. Eternal memory to those who gave their lives defending Ukraine,” Zelenski said in a brief message in his account in X.
