UN: “Feeding in the world is at an unprecedentedly low level”

The UN Foundation for Population (UNFPA) has published a report that states that the birth rate in the world is at an unprecedentedly low level. According to the document, hundreds of millions of families cannot afford as many children as they want.

The survey was attended by 14,000 people from 14 countries that are overcome by geographical and economic position. Their total population is a third of the population of the planet. The list is the USA, Brazil, Germany, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Morocco, South Korea.

“We are talking about an unprecedented decrease in the birth rate. Most of the respondents want two or more children. But people understand that they cannot afford it. We are observing a real crisis,” says Dr. Natalia Kanam, head of UNFPA.

39% of respondents claim that the main reason is financial. To grow a child is an expensive project. 12% call the main problem the inability to conceive a child. About 20% speak of fear of the future, fearing wars, epidemics, climate changes. At the same time, every third woman was pregnant unplanned.
