Applications are being generated regarding the export of certain product groups from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan. Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in a press conference that requests are being made to export certain product groups from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan.

“As unexpected and dynamic developments take place, something changes every day, because from the beginning it was planned that the first train should come from Kazakhstan, but after that it turned out that Azerbaijan also gives such an opportunity to trains coming from Russia. Now I know that requests are being generated regarding the export of certain groups of goods from Russia to Armenia by that route, it turns out that the flows are starting to be rearranged to reach Armenia through Azerbaijan, while the originally planned Kazakhstan rolling stock has not yet arrived. In other words, until the vehicle that was the main reason arrives, before that, I assume that maybe there will be more vehicles,” the Prime Minister mentioned.

Pashinyan emphasized that the situation is constantly changing because new applications are emerging. “Now it should also be found out in practice how goods will flow in the opposite direction, that is, from Armenia through Georgia, Azerbaijan to Russia or Kazakhstan, or to other countries.”

The Prime Minister once again expressed his readiness to ensure the passage of Azerbaijani and Turkish trucks from Turkey to Azerbaijan and vice versa via the Margara-Kornidzor route.

This morning, the train loaded with Russian wheat arrived in Armenia, passing through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Weeks ago, the President of Azerbaijan in Kazakhstan had announcedthat Baku is removing the ban on the transit of Armenian goods. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk ten days ago had announcedthat the Russians and Azerbaijanis discussed this issue, and Baku reaffirmed that it is ready to allow the transit of Russian products to Armenia.
