The situation in the south of Syria has escalated again. The government forces and the Druze living in Suwayda region blame each other for violating the ceasefire established in July.
The representatives of the National Guard uniting the Druze detachments claim that yesterday the forces subordinate to the official Damascus shelled the Al-Majal settlement with medium and large-caliber weapons. The Minister of Defense of Syria made similar accusations against the Druze.
The last time the situation in the south of Syria escalated this summer. 1,300 people, mostly Druze, were killed in the clashes that took place on July 13-20.
