The underground public garage will be built on the right side of the Serbian Parliament, and there will be a park above the garage, said city urbanist Marko Stojicic today.
The works on the reconstruction of the plateau in front of the Assembly started a few days earlier, and as Stojčić said for Prva TV, the left side, towards Takovska Street, will also be reconstructed.
“The left part towards Takovska Street will be reconstructed now, in terms of park space. Thus, we will have the entire block completely reconstructed and innovated, but in the old architectural appearance,” said Stojčić.
According to him, in the next phase, in 2022, the street leading to the presidency, ie the Old Palace, will be reconstructed, and the works on the complete reconstruction of Nikola Pašić Square will be completed.
“The entire area around the Assembly will be completely reconstructed by the end of next year. Perhaps the largest park area in use, located along Vlajkovićeva Street, which is unfortunately under concrete today, will be additionally landscaped, and below it there will be a garage like the garage next to Pionirski park, “Stojcic said.
Reconstruction of the plateau refers to the replacement of all broken slabs, as well as the greenery that will be changed, lighting and everything else that makes up this complex, and the works are planned to last about four months.
