Colin Cole: “70,000 to 80,000 Russian soldiers were injured or killed in Ukraine”

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, 70,000 to 80,000 Russian soldiers have been injured or killed, US Deputy Defense Secretary Colin Cole said.

“That number may be a little bit low or a little bit high, but I think it is somehow true,” said a senior Pentagon official.

Kol also added that the Ukrainian side also suffered tangible losses among the military, but did not specify approximate numbers.

The representative of the US military department noted that despite “convincing losses, Russia has not achieved any of its goals, which were announced by President Vladimir Putin at the end of February, before invading Ukraine.”

Moscow and Kiev do not reveal the number of their victims in the war.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia published data for the last time on March 25, announcing that 1,351 people were killed and 3,825 were injured during the military operations.

The military department of Ukraine has not provided any information regarding the losses among the military.

Alexei Arestovich, the advisor to the head of the office of the president of that country, published an approximate number of losses in the Ukrainian army in June, announcing that about 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since February.
