As a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strike, the Chongarsky bridge leading to Crimea was disabled

On the night of June 9, Ukrainian Armed Forces drones attacked the Chongarsky bridge connecting Crimea with the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine. Traffic along the transport artery going through the Sivash Strait is completely blocked.

“I ask drivers to use alternative routes through Armyansk and Perekop,” wrote the governor of the Russian occupation administration of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo. He also said that most of the UAV was destroyed on approach and that otherwise the consequences of the strike would have been even more severe.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are making significant efforts to enforce the transport blockade of Crimea. The route running along the coast of the Sea of Azov was taken under fire control. The peninsula is left without fuel, and there are food shortages.
