The Insider: GRAU General Damir Davydov died in a car explosion in the Moscow region

He headed the missile and ammunition supply department of the GRAU, and was also responsible for the supply of shells to units fighting against Ukraine. The explosives were placed under the bottom of the car. According to The Insider, we are talking about an operation by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Davydov was born in 1969 in the closed city of Penza-19 (Zarechny). His father worked at the Start production association, which produced nuclear missiles. Davydov received a military-technical education and is the author of several patents in the field of rocket engines and artillery ammunition.

It should be noted that the area where the explosion occurred is mostly inhabited by military personnel. In April 2025, a few hundred meters from the place of Davydov’s death, the deputy chief of the main operational directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, was killed.
