The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated today, on the occasion of the visit of the Montenegrin Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, that Belgrade wants a decent relationship with Podgorica and to respect Montenegro, but that “there are no great expectations”.
“We don’t have God knows what tensions (with Montenegro) and we didn’t provoke them … We want a decent relationship, we respect Montenegro, but do we have high expectations? We don’t. Every conversation is noble and it’s better to have it than to have it. no, “Vucic told Pink TV in a broadcast from Glasgow, where he is participating in the climate summit.
He said that he would meet with him during Krivokapic’s visit to Belgrade.
Commenting on the criticism of the Republika Srpska and the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, by the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, in his report, Vučić said that he had not yet learned all the details, but that it seemed to him that the Republika Srpska advocates respect for the Dayton Accords.
“When they disintegrated the former Yugoslavia, they said that everyone, even the provinces, could separate, but if Serbs want to separate, then that is impossible. An exception was made in respecting international law, and that is why it is funny to me when they talk about some high values. and the right to self-determination. And when we come to the right of Serbs and their right to self-determination, then you hear: “You Serbs are in the corner. Shut up, you are guilty of everything and you have no right to an opinion,” Vucic said.
Vučić said that this happens every time Serbia strengthens and emerges at the forefront according to economic criteria, and not only when it comes to the number of inhabitants and the size of the territory.
“We have to understand the situation in the world and not whine and cry. We cannot change the borders today but we can fight for the progress of the economy and that is the solution for us,” he said.
