Pilot to horrified passengers on the flight to Dubrovnik: ‘I hope we will have enough fuel’

Due to the storm, about 150 passengers British Airwaysa flight BA 2832 traveled almost 24 hours from London to Dubrovnik.

Namely, the plane was supposed to land in Dubrovnik at 21:25 on Sunday, everything went according to plan until it arrived in front of the city.

Passengers claim that the pilot tried several times to land at the airport, but failed. They state that they circled for half an hour over Dubrovnik trying to land.

After several unsuccessful attempts, the pilot informed the passengers that, due to the storm, he would not land in Dubrovnik but in Zagreb, adding that he hoped he would have enough fuel to get there, which further upset the passengers.

However, the trip went well, and the passengers were at the airport in Zagreb 20 minutes after midnight.

Passengers revealed to Jutarnji list that he did not meet them at the airport or explain what was happening and when they would fly to Dubrovnik.

They state that only the pilot later explained to them that he had to rest for at least 12 hours and that he would not be able to take off before then. That’s why the passengers forced him to go to sleep as soon as possible.

Since everything took place in the late hours and nothing was working, the passengers were left to their own devices.

While the Zagreb International Airport claims that the passengers were met by airport staff upon exiting the plane, who handed them a notice from the airline to find their own accommodation and that British Airways would reimburse them for their expenses.

In addition, the airport staff organized a taxi ride for them to get to their temporary accommodation as soon as possible.

– In such situations, we do everything the airline asks of us, and we did it – they claim in MZLZ. They state that most of the passengers left the airport in a relatively short period of time.

Passengers from the plane, on the other hand, state that the transportation trauma continued during today.

Only today, during the morning, the passengers received an SMS message from British Airways that they could not land in Dubrovnik due to bad weather and that they would take off from Zagreb at 1:30 p.m. However, that promise did not come true either.

A few hours later, they received a new message in which it was written that they would take off from Zagreb at 3:30 p.m. and that they would receive a voucher for refreshments at the airport.

The outraged passengers did not receive any explanation why they had to wait for 16 hours in Zagreb for the flight to Dubrovnik, nor why the company contacted them only about ten hours after landing in Zagreb.
