Former president of the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS), Slavisa Lekic, passed away in Belgrade at the age of 63.

He was a journalist and editor of Omladinske novine, Borba, Naša Borba, Vremena, NIN, and he published columns in Danas, the weekly Newsweek, as well as in Nedjeljna Dalmacija and Mladina.

Lekić was the owner and editor-in-chief of Status magazine, as well as the editor-in-chief of the weekly Reporter.

He is the author of several books, including “The Beating of Tomislav Nikolić’s Political Autobiography” and “Every Honor to Vučić” and documentaries such as “Media in Serbia: Chronicle of Decline”, “The Fall of Hague Fugitives”, “Heroes of the Evil Age”, “The Ruler”. ..

He was a member of the first convocation of the Press Council and a media advisor organized by UNDP.

From 2017 to 2019, he was the president of NUNS.
