Blinken at the UN Security Council: “If Russia stops fighting, there will be no war. If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Ukraine”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke at a meeting of the UN Security Council on the war unleashed by the Russian authorities against Ukraine.

“We hear a lot about divisions between countries at the United Nations. But lately, the amazingly amazing unity between member states (of the UN) when it comes to Russia’s war with Ukraine. Leaders of developing and developed countries, large and small, north and south spoke in the General Assembly about the consequences of this war and the need to end it.And they called on all of us to reaffirm our commitment to the UN Charter and its basic principles, including sovereignty, territorial integrity, human rights.Even a number of countries that maintain close ties with Moscow have publicly stated, that they have serious questions and concerns about President Putin’s ongoing intrusion,” Blinken said.

At the same time, the US Secretary of State stressed: “One person has taken the path of war. One person can put an end to this. Because if Russia stops fighting, there will be no war. If Ukraine stops fighting, there will be no Ukraine.”
