An unusual event in the USA: The San Francisco police announced last night that they had arrested Dmitri Meshin, a 51-year-old resident of the city, who entered a synagogue in the Richmond district with a gun and fired blank bullets in all directions. The incident took place during a gathering and study in the synagogue.
According to the police statement, the incident took place last Wednesday, around 7:30 p.m., when Mashin entered the “Schneerson” center on Balboa Street, which holds religious services and classes, alongside social activities for the local Jewish community. In the security camera video, Meshin is seen wearing a baseball cap, entering the synagogue and firing more than 12 bullets. After that, head for the exit door and flee the scene.
In an interview with the “San Francisco Chronicle” newspaper, one of the women who was in the synagogue at that event said that when the guy was asked where he was from, “he replied that he was from the Mossad, took out a gun and started shooting.” The eyewitnesses also said that “we were shocked, no one expected this, I was going to go to the kitchen to get a knife, but the whole thing took about 20 seconds.” No casualties or damage were reported in the incident.
