Maya lost in Belarus

After Maya Reiten-Stoll, a lawyer specializing in criminal and civil law and a mother of two, was arrested, any possible explanation she gave to the Belarusian police did not help. She emphasized to them that the cannabis in her possession was licensed by the Israeli Ministry of Health and wanted to present them with documents – but as far as the police were concerned, she violated the law prohibiting drug use, even if it was licensed by the Ministry of Health. As a result, she was sent to the infamous 19th-century infamous prison, which has the worst conditions in the world.

Since her arrest, Maya has only been given one brief phone call. Her children who remained in Israel are anxious and do not stop missing. “It’s hard. It’s hard, three weeks not talking to my mom who is the person I’m most connected to in this whole world,” her son told the N12. “She usually raises me and my sister alone. I try very, very hard to stay strong for my sister.”

“The family is shattered, our situation is deteriorating – I have no desire to live,” Monique Krusensky, the mother of Maya Laniv Raskin, told the “Morning News” in tears yesterday. “It is difficult for children without a mother. We are mobilized to help them and be with them, but it is not a substitute for a mother.”

She recounted the chain of events: “It happened to her by mistake, she is a lawyer and knows the rules. She packed the case at the last minute and did not know it was there, a fact that left the case with the police when she went to look for luggage to show them a green sign. “She would leave the bag with them. When she returned, they told her to open the bag, maybe the dogs smelled it.”

Lior’s family toldN12 Because the chain of events began when he was on his way to work riding a motorcycle. When he reached a red light, Lior crossed the stop line, which apparently upset one of the other drivers. Lior waited for the traffic light to change and continued his journey, the family says, but the local chased after him and tried to bump into him and take him off the road. Finally, he blocked his way with the vehicle. At this point a quarrel began to develop between the two, during which the local stabbed Lior in the hand, and Lior caused an injury to his eye. Three days after the incident, the police contacted Lior’s partner in an attempt to find out details about the incident, and the Israeli arrived at the police station on his own initiative to hand over his version. From that moment he was arrested, and to this day has not been released.
