“Must Condemn It”: What led Trump’s son to stand up against his father?

A line of messages sent by the son of the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, A former senior White House adviser, Mark Meadows, at the time of the violent outbreak of Capitol Hill on Jan. 6, revealed his son’s demand for a speedy condemnation of the incident.

During the committee meeting, further correspondence was read out between his advisers, other legislators and journalists, who alerted to the incident in real time and called on the president’s advisers to respond quickly to what was happening. “The president should calm the situation, immediately!”, Read one of them. “The president needs to send his people home, it hurts us all, he is destroying his legacy,” another statement said.

Recall, at the time of the incident, the former president posted a video in which he called on his supporters to “go home”, while continuing to express his displeasure against the alleged “election fraud”.
