The President of Russia visited Mariupol

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Donbass city of Mariupol, which the Russian armed forces took control of last spring.

According to the message published by the Kremlin early this morning, Putin arrived by helicopter, then drove around the city in a car, with himself at the wheel. He viewed a number of objects, talked with the locals.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnulin presented the construction and restoration works of Mariupol and its suburbs. There was talk, in particular, about the construction of new residential districts, educational and social facilities.

Khusnulin also informed that the construction of the highway connecting Mariupol to Donetsk has already been completed.

In addition, Putin held a meeting at the “special military operation” command post in Rostov-on-Don, listened to the reports of Valery Gerasimov, chief of the general staff of the Russian Armed Forces, and other commanders, the Kremlin reports.

The Russian president visited Crimea yesterday.
