A fire broke out today in the ruins of a part of a building in the US federal state of Florida, and hampered the efforts of rescuers searching for 159 missing people.

Firefighters are unable to find the source of the fire in the ruins in the small town of Surfside, near Miami.

Part of the twelve-story building collapsed on Thursday, and the death of four people has been confirmed so far.

Earlier today, the city authorities published a report from 2018, which states that the building on the ocean shore, part of which collapsed on Thursday, had “great structural damage” that needed to be thoroughly repaired.
