An armed man was arrested tonight (Saturday) after breaking into the grounds of Windsor Castle, while Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating Christmas there. Police said the 19-year-old from Southampton was arrested and taken in for questioning.
“The man was arrested on suspicion of violating or trespassing on a protected site and possession of abusive weapons. He remains in custody at this time,” said Rebecca Mirs, chief of the Thames Valley Police. According to her, the suspect did not enter any building.
Earlier today, the Queen of Great Britain addressed the loss of her husband, Prince Philip, during a public announcement she made in honor of Christmas. In a statement, the Queen said she “remembers the mischievous spark in his eyes.”
