Joe Biden: “Immense courage of Americans in the face of the pandemic”

In a message on the occasion of his first Christmas in the White House, Joe Biden praised, also on behalf of his wife Jill and his entire family, the “immense courage” of Americans especially in the face of the pandemic and invited them to seek “light” and unity.

“On behalf of our family, we wish a Merry Christmas to all in the United States and around the world who are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the promise of hope and renewal. We are inspired by the countless Americans who remind us that the things we hold sacred we are united and transcended by distance, time and even the constraints of a pandemic: faith, family and friendship; love of the arts, learning and nature; gratitude, service and community; unity and peace. These are the gifts of the heart. Looking back on this year, we have seen tremendous courage, character, resilience and determination in all of you who heal, comfort, teach, protect and serve with gestures large and small. ”

In his Christmas message to the Americans, US President Joe Biden prayed for “all of you who have lost your loved ones during this pandemic and for whom this Christmas has a heavy heart. We pray that you will find strength from pain.”

Biden also addressed the US military and their families, thanking them for “service and sacrifice. And, for the nation, let us pray for the promise of Scripture: to find light in darkness.” The message ends with “Merry Christmas, America”.
