order daily tests for one hundred thousand essential workers

The UK surpassed 200,000 coronavirus cases for the first time, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson sees no need to impose new restrictions to contain the spread of the Omicron variant.

The prime minister did announce that starting next week they will be made available to the essential workers daily tests in certain sectors such as food processing and the Border Force, in an attempt to avoid breakdowns in logistics.

Johnson said the government will work with the affected areas on logistics, and rapid test kits will be sent out every week.

Hospitals in emergency

Also this Tuesday, several hospitals in England they declared an emergency due to the increase in hospitalizations due to the advance of the Omicron variant and the large number of personnel who are in quarantine after testing positive or having been in close contact with an infected person.

The number of daily cases of coronavirus soared in recent weeks, and in the last 24 hours the country registered other 218,724, a new record, reported the Ministry of Health.
