Greece requires a PCR test or rapid test before entry

From this Monday on, Greece will require a negative PCR test or rapid test before departure due to Corona. This applies to all travelers from the age of five who arrive in Greece from Monday 6:00 a.m. local time – regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not. The negative PCR test must not be more than 72 hours old and the rapid test 24 hours old at the time of arrival. This regulation is initially valid until January 24th.

This was announced on Sunday by the civil aviation authority and the national borders. Before starting the journey, travelers to Greece must also still register (https://travel.gov.gr).

In Greece, the number of new corona infections had risen rapidly in the past few days. Every day, a good 35,000 new infections are registered in the country with just under eleven million inhabitants.
