The situation, despite the difficulties, is developing in the direction of settlement, the remaining issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan are of a technical nature and can be overcome, said the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the start of the tripartite meeting with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“In general, in my opinion, despite all the difficulties and problems, which are still quite enough, the situation is generally developing in the direction of settlement,” the head of the Kremlin stated, without providing additional details, only stating that they are “of a purely technical nature.”
According to Putin, “the question is in the terminology.”
“Of course, behind those terms there should be an accurate understanding of the realities and events that will follow the signing of the relevant documents, but in our opinion, I mean all of us, both the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, they are surmountable obstacles. By and large, they don’t exist, they are purely technical issues,” said the Russian leader.
The head of the Kremlin suggested that the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia meet in a week and finalize the remaining issues related to the unblocking of transport communications in the region.
The host of the meeting, Vladimir Putin, had separate meetings with Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan before that.
