There is little hope of saving Corrado ‘Korra’ Pesce overwhelmed by an avalanche in Patagonia

There is little hope of saving Corrado Pesce, known as “Korra” lmountaineer of Novara origin overwhelmed in Patagonia by an avalanche. With his Argentine colleague Tomas Aguilo he was climbing Cerro Torre, at over 3,000 meters above sea level. The two were hit by a discharge of ice and stones that made it impossible for Pesce to go down independently.

Aguilo managed to accommodate the 40-year-old from Novara in a small shelter ea sound the alarm before descending. Rescues were hampered by the adverse weather which got worse enough to stop them.

Pesce has left Novara for several years. He works in Chamonix as a mountain guide. To underline the little hope of saving him is her sister Lidia, who wrote on her Facebook profile: “I thank all the people who attended and who are still intervening to recover my brother … I thank friends and everyone for what you have done for him and I thank Tomas Roy Aguilo for having made you safe in its difficulty, I have a new Angel in heaven I love you and I will love you forever … have a good trip …. Goodbye “.
