The UK Ministry of Health has notified 35,707 new infections of COVID-19 this Friday, a new increase compared to the 32,500 registered during the day on Thursday.

With this figure, the cases in the European country have risen to 5,058,093, while the fatalities due to COVID-19 stand at 128,365, 29 more than in the previous balance.

The United Kingdom has been immersed in a new spike in COVID-19 infections for weeks, which authorities attribute to the spread of the delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, found in India. However, so far, this increase has not translated into worrying hospital pressure or increased mortality.

The British Government plans to lift some restrictions, such as the use of a mask or physical distance, on July 19, the last step of the ‘roadmap’ of de-escalation in the country that the Executive justifies with the “successful” vaccination plan against the disease in the country.

According to data provided by the UK Health Ministry this Friday, more than 45.6 million people – 86.8 percent of the population – already have the first dose of the vaccine, while more than 34 , 3 million – 65.3 percent – already have the complete guideline.
