Satellite images prove: Russia is gaining strength in the Crimea
Tensions are peaking – and so Russia is gaining strength: New satellite photos released tonight (Saturday) show how a military base was established in the Crimea. The photos published by the Israeli company Imagesat show how the area that was empty was filled with weapons in just four days. The satellite photos released show how on February 15 the area in Novozarna was still desolate. Within a short time, the Russians gained a lot of power in the area: among other things, missile and vehicle launchers were transferred to the area – in another show of strength by Putin’s army. The ballistic exercise that Russia carried out today also caused concern, but Moscow explains that the event was planned in advance.

Meanwhile, as world leaders discuss and prepare for a Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Russian military has earlier conducted an exercise in ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads – in the eyes of President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky told US Vice President Camila Harris that his country was seeking peace.

The Ukrainian president is in talks with the US vice president in Munich today. Zalansky said his country was seeking peace, after President Joe Biden warned that Russia might invade in the coming days. The Ukrainian president added that he was seeking American support for his army.

The Ukrainian army announced this morning that an officer with the rank of major and another soldier had been killed today as a result of shelling by separatists. Another four soldiers were wounded, and shortly thereafter reports of echoes of explosions in the east of the country began to be received.
