Mirzoyan discussed issues of regional security and stability with his officials

Within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in New York, has meetings with his officials.

In a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen, Mirzoyan noted with satisfaction the representation of Finland in the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia.

Regional security and stability issues were addressed. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh caused by Azerbaijan’s illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor for more than 9 months, the violations of all fundamental rights of 120 thousand people, reports the Foreign Ministry.

In accordance with the legally binding decisions of the International Court of Justice of February 22 and July 6, the urgency of restoring unhindered movement in both directions through the Lachin Corridor was emphasized. Emphasizing the messages delivered by the EU and its member states so far, the head of the RA foreign policy department emphasized the need for clear steps to stop Azerbaijan’s destructive way of working.

At the meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, Minister Mirzoyan stressed that the blockade of Lachin Corridor violates not only the 2020 agreement signed by the President of Azerbaijan. the statement of November 9, but also international humanitarian and human rights norms, two decisions of the International Court of Justice.
