Russia – Ukraine tensions, Yaakov (Yasha) Kedmi: “Putin wants a new world order”

Yaakov (Yasha) Kedmi, former head of the Nativ liaison bureau, the body working to reach Jews in Russia and its neighbors, was interviewed this morning (Wednesday) on Golan Yokpaz and Anat Davidov’s program on 103FM, and discusses recent developments on the Russia-Ukraine border. “Putin wants a new world order in which the United States will no longer dictate order, even at the cost of war,” he said.

According to Kedmi, the recent escalating tension between Russia and Ukraine signifies a greater struggle, “a struggle that is currently taking place between Russia and the United States over a completely different order in the world. According to him, Ukraine is not the main problem, but Putin’s idea is to establish control in general, both in Poland, the Baltic countries and other countries in Europe, with the emphasis on military and non-diplomatic activity. “Russia has stepped up its strategic system in the world,” he added.

“For Putin, this is a mission,” Kedmi described it. He stressed that the Russian president is ready to fight for the United States to meet the conditions he has set. “The one who recently expressed support for Putin’s remarks was the president of Cuba, followed by the president of Nicaragua and Venezuela. There is no defense against missiles in the southern United States.”

Asked whether he thinks the Russians will continue to give a “free hand” to the IDF, to continue the attacks in Syria, following the situation, he added: “Russia will not address problematic statements, Russia treats actions and not statements, Russia ignores, but if Israel joins sanctions against it .
