The authorities of the Ukrainian city of Lviv have imposed a night curfew this Friday, before the military invasion of Russia in Ukraine.

As reported by the Mayor’s Office of Lviv through the social network Facebook, the authorities will limit the exit and movement of citizens between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (local time).

The authorities envisage the introduction of “special passes” for certain citizens, including employees of the military or critical infrastructure facilities.

The capital, Kiev, is also under a curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Ukrainian Parliament already approved the state of alarm for the country as a whole on Wednesday and, with this umbrella, Kiev imposed a series of restrictions, although the curfew was not among them.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “military operation” in eastern Ukraine early Thursday, days after recognizing the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. In response, Ukraine has said it is breaking off relations with Moscow.
