Professional basketball player Britney Greiner, who plays in the United States Women’s League (WNBA), has been arrested in Russia after traces of cannabis oil were found among her belongings. If convicted in court, Greiner is expected to serve a lengthy prison term, for a period of up to 10 years.
The person who announced the arrest of the basketball player is the tax authority in Russia, which announced that the actress was arrested at the Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow, on suspicion of drug possession. The official statement read: “The woman arrested is a professional player in the WNBA League, who has twice won an Olympic gold medal.”
According to the Russians, the arrest took place last month, when the actress arrived in Russia from New York. An airport worker checked her boarding bag and found a vaporizer with a liquid identified as cannabis oil.
